A WINSFORD man has been fined after he failed to provide police with details about the driver of a vehicle suspected of an offence.
Jay Roberts, of Troutbeck Grove, had pleaded not guilty to the charge but failed to show up at Stockport Magistrates Court on Friday, July 29.
The case was therefore proven in the 32-year-old’s absence, and he was fined £660.
The incident dated back to September 13, 2021, when a Vauxhall Corsa was allegedly involved in an offence in the Greater Manchester area.
Roberts was due to stand trial at the court having entered a not guilty plea on March 22 this year.
As well as the fine, Roberts was also given six points on his driving license.
He must also pay £180 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £66 surcharge which will help fund victim services.
