HERE are the faces of three of the people jailed throughout July across courts in Cheshire.

They include a man who was the passenger in a pink Ford Mustang that was stopped on the M6 carrying more than £250k worth of drugs.

Another man is now behind bars after going on a crime spree on the same day, including assaulting a police officer and attempted burglary.

Here is the full roundup of those taken into custody during July.

THE passenger in a pink Ford Mustang carrying more than £250,000 worth of drugs along the M6 has been jailed for almost six years.

Robert Dalton was travelling in the distinctive vehicle when it was stopped by police between junctions 18 and 19 near Knutsford on October 21 last year.

Officers from Cheshire Police's Roads and Crime Unit searched the vehicle and discovered a large quantity of MDMA tablets with an estimated street value of between £250,000 and £500,000.

Dalton, now 39, was arrested, along with the driver of the vehicle.

A NORTHWICH man who committed nine separate offences on the same day – including assaulting an emergency worker and attempted burglary – has been jailed for more than two years.

Benjamin Gibney, of Park Street, pleaded guilty to a whole host of offences, and appeared in Chester Crown Court on Tuesday (July 26) to be sentenced.

The court heard the 34-year-old went on a crime spree on January 3 this year.

The offences involved, entering an address in Northwich as a trespasser with intent to steal, possession of an offensive weapon, common assault, assault, two counts of sending a threatening message via a telephone call, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and, assaulting a police officer and vehicle interference.

A NORTHWICH man has been jailed after carrying out a 'serious and unprovoked' attack on another man.

Daryl Cobain, of Princes Avenue, was taken into custody after assaulting another man in Chester on April 6 earlier this year

Appearing at Chester Magistrates' Court on May 12, the 46-year-old pleaded guilty to assault by beating.

He also admitted stealing £6 worth of meat and confectionary from a Chester Sainsbury's on the same day as his assault.

A PUBLIC pest has been jailed after he stole meat from a shop in Northwich.

Steven John Owen, of Victoria House, was made the subject of a substantial criminal behaviour order in May, which banned him from several town centre stores.

However, the 52-year-old, who breached the terms of that order just weeks later, found himself back in the court again.

On this occasion, Owen walked into Quality Save on Witton Street on June 28 – a store he wasn’t banned from – and stole meat worth £16.

However, he was caught and appeared at Chester Magistrates Court the following morning where he pleaded guilty.

A STALKER from Winsford who made a recruiter have nightmares and fear for her own safety has been jailed.

Michael Clarke, of Townsfield Road, met the woman when he signed up with her company in a bid to find work.

After she helped him do that, not only did he fail to turn up for the job but began an eight-month-long campaign of stalking her at her workplace.

The 39-year-old had been due to face trial on three charges in relation to stalking but changed his plea to one of those charges on Friday, July 8. No evidence was offered on the remaining two charges.

A MAN has been jailed after he resisted arrest for trying to defraud Vodafone over mobile phone contracts.

On July 27, Fabio Coelho tried to obtain two mobile phone contracts from the Vodafone store in Grove Street, Wilmslow, by providing false details.

Then, while being arrested, the 36-year-old obstructed a police officer in the course of their duty.

Coelho, of Goodchild Road, Hackney in London, pleaded guilty to the offences on July 27 and was sentenced in his absence at Chester Magistrates Court the following day.

A MAN with a ‘flagrant disregard for people’ been jailed for attacking another man.

Gary Udale, of Foden Walk, Wilmslow, had pleaded not guilty to assaulting a man at Handforth Dean on August 14, last year

The 51-year-old changed his plea and admitted the offence at Crewe Magistrates Court on July 28.

Magistrates sentenced him to prison for six weeks because ‘the offence was so serious’.

Udale was put behind bars because magistrates said he ‘had a flagrant disregard for people and their property, a record of like offences and previous breaches of order’.
