A MAN who entered a mobile phone store in Winsford with a knife and threatened a woman has had his sentencing delayed.

On February 2 of this year, Vincent Henry was in possession of a 9cm kitchen knife while at the EE store in Jubilee Way.

He also used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman, ‘with intent to cause that person to believe the immediate use of unlawful violence by him would be used, or it was likely that such violence would be provoked’.

Henry, 40, of Station Road in Winsford, originally pleaded not guilty to the offences on March 1 at Crewe Magistrates’ Court.

A trial found him guilty on May 4.

His sentencing date was delayed for a medical or psychiatric report to be prepared.

But at a hearing at Crewe Magistrates’ Court today, August 1, magistrates said a further pre-sentence report still needed to be carried out.

Henry will now be sentenced on August 30.
