A WINSFORD man has been given a community order after he assaulted a woman before obstructing a police officer who came to intervene.
Angelo Goncalves, of Hill Street pleaded guilty to both charges when he appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 28.
The 40-year-old assaulted the woman on May 17 this year and then obstructed a police officer who was sent to the scene.
Magistrates made Goncalves the subject of a community order, part of which includes a requirement that he complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
He must also attend appointments as and when required by the probation service.
Goncalves must also pay court costs of £85 and pay a surcharge of £95 that will help fund victim services.
