A DRUNKEN Audi driver from Northwich led police on a 130-mph motorway chase before losing control and crashing into a concrete bollard.

Paul Kennedy, of Harthill Close, was arrested after he eventually crashed, admitting: “I drove like a d***head and that’s it.

“You are arresting me for being a dangerous driver w****r and I know I am.”

Liverpool Crown Court heard on July 28, it was 'sheer luck' that nobody had been killed or seriously injured due to Kennedy's behaviour, which involved running a red traffic light at 60mph.

He was sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for 18 months, ordered to carry out 30 days rehabilitation activities and banned from driving for 12 months.

A 26-YEAR-OLD has been hit with a court bill of almost £800 after being found guilty of drink driving in Northwich.

Razvan Istudor, of Flower Street, Northwich, previously denied drink driving along Chester Way in the town on March 14.

Chester Magistrates' Court heard he provided a sample of 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal alcohol limit is 35 microgrammes.

A WINSFORD man has appeared in court after stealing three televisions worth more than £800 from the town’s Asda supermarket.

On three separate occasions across May and June this year, Kevin Owen, of Brindley Avenue, entered Asda at The Drumber and stole televisions worth hundreds of pounds.

Chester Magistrates Court heard how the 51-year-old stole a £299 television on May 12.

The following month, on June 7, he stole a £329 television before returning to Asda a few days later on June 11 and stealing a television worth £219.

THE passenger in a pink Ford Mustang carrying more than £250,000 worth of drugs along the M6 has been jailed for almost six years.

Robert Dalton was travelling in the distinctive vehicle when it was stopped by police between junctions 18 and 19 near Knutsford on October 21 last year.

Officers from Cheshire Police's Roads and Crime Unit searched the vehicle and discovered a large quantity of MDMA tablets with an estimated street value of between £250,000 and £500,000.

Dalton, now 39, was arrested, along with the driver of the vehicle.

A NORTHWICH man who committed nine separate offences on the same day – including assaulting an emergency worker and attempted burglary – has been jailed for more than two years.

Benjamin Gibney, of Park Street, pleaded guilty to a whole host of offences, and appeared in Chester Crown Court on Tuesday (July 26) to be sentenced.

The court heard the 34-year-old went on a crime spree on January 3 this year.

The offences involved, entering an address in Northwich as a trespasser with intent to steal, possession of an offensive weapon, common assault, assault, two counts of sending a threatening message via a telephone call, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and, assaulting a police officer and vehicle interference.

A NORTHWICH woman has appeared in court after attacking another woman in the town as the country celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Courtney Crellin, of Eddisbury Way in Davenham, appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 22, where she pleading guilty to one charge of assault by beating.

The court heard how the incident took place last month in Northwich on Saturday, June 4, over the Platinum Jubilee weekend.

A MIDDLEWICH man has been fined after threatening to burn down a halfway house.

Michael Birkinshaw, of Chester Road, pleaded guilty to the offence at Chester Magistrates Court on July 22.

Two days earlier, on July 20, the 35-year-old made a threat to a man that he would burn down a building belonging to Emerging Futures.

A BANNED driver has appeared back in court after taking cannabis and getting behind the wheel in Northwich.

Aaron Jaffrey, of Parkfield Road, Northwich, was already disqualified when he was caught in the driver’s seat of a VW Polo travelling along Middlewich Road on May 20.

The 24-year-old was also found with a controlled drug – a cannabinoid – in his system above the specific limit and he no insurance policy in place.

A 45-YEAR-OLD man from Northwich has been fined just £10 by the courts for drunk and disorderly behaviour in the town centre.

Alex Pearce appeared in Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, July 22, after pleading guilty to multiple offences, including resisting a constable, possession of class B drugs and drunk and disorderly behaviour.

Pearce - who resides in a narrowboat moored up at Lift Lane near the Anderton Boat Lift - committed each offence on July 2.

A WOMAN from Tabley attacked an emergency service worker after being arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour in Northwich during the Jubilee celebrations.

Nicola Lehane, of Holly Grove, was taken into custody on Thursday, June 2 - the day the Platinum Jubilee celebrations began - following an incident in Witton Street.

The 40-year-old was then taken to the Middlewich Custody Suite where she assaulted a detention officer while she was doing her job.

A MAN with a ‘flagrant disregard for people’ been jailed for attacking another man.

Gary Udale, of Foden Walk, Wilmslow, had pleaded not guilty to assaulting a man at Handforth Dean on August 14, last year.

The 51-year-old changed his plea and admitted the offence at Crewe Magistrates Court on July 28.

Magistrates sentenced him to prison for six weeks because ‘the offence was so serious’.

A PENSIONER has avoided a spell behind bars after he indecently assaulted a girl more than 50 years ago.

Peter Hardy, who is now 66 and lives in North Wales, assaulted the girl in Wilmslow a total of nine times between 1969 and 1972.

The girl was aged between nine and 11 at the time, while Hardy was himself still a teenager, aged between 14 and 17.

Having initially denied five of those charges when appearing at Stockport Magistrates Court in May of the last year, he later admitted to them all.

A MAN has avoided jail after racially abusing a police officer and wielding a hammer.

Paul Maylett, of Lyme Walk, Wilmslow, was given a suspended prison sentence at Stockport Magistrates Court on July 26.

The 40-year-old had denied being in possession of a hammer in Wilmslow on September 8, last year, but was convicted after a trial.

Maylett had pleaded not guilty to using racially aggravated threatening or abusive words towards a male police officer on the same day.

The defendant changed his plea to guilty on the day of the trial.

A DRIVER has been banned from the road after being more than eight times over the drug driving limit.

Ryan Tuckman, of Saltersbrook Grove, Wilmslow, pleaded not guilty to drug driving at Crewe Magistrates Court on July 28.

The 29-year-old was driving a Honda Accord on Dean Row Road in Wilmslow on June 28, last year, when he was stopped by police.

A subsequent blood test recorded 421 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine, an ingredient of cocaine, in his blood.
