WINSFORD Over 3 under sevens footballers are so happy with their new kit they want to sleep in it!

Coach Abbie Daly said the new-look, which includes a tribute to the club's late chairman Tony Mitchell, makes the players feel special and proud.

After approaching social enterprise Kitdeck for help sourcing sponsors for the new season, the Winsford team are now proud owners of eighteen70 kit for the entire squad, thanks to their sponsor – Blackwater & Grubb.

The royal blue and yellow kit takes inspiration from the team’s previous designs and is influenced by the players' request to be more ‘unique’.

“The new kit means so much to the team, they already love it and haven’t even had the chance to play in it yet," said Abbie.

"They were even saying they want to sleep in their new kits! All of us at Over 3 appreciate the way we were able to keep our tribute to our very own Tony Mitchell, which makes it that extra bit special and one of a kind.”

Kitdeck arranged a special pitch-side kit handover evening.

Soon after a midweek training session finished, the Winsford players were introduced to ‘Frankie’ (Blackwater & Grubb’s coffee van), Alex Demain and Peter Evans (co-owners of Blackwater & Grubb).

This was a chance for the children to meet their new sponsors, try on their kits and enjoy a complimentary chocolate drink served by Alex.

“The presentation was a brilliant experience for our team, one that they won’t forget," said Abbie.

"The excitement on their faces was priceless when putting on their new kits, and they were buzzing to be treated with a lovely hot chocolate from Alex afterwards.

"Meeting the sponsors was great for both the coaches and the boys. It was really good for the team to understand who our sponsor is, what they do, and the role they play in our team.

"We were able to thank them in person for their generosity. They are a brilliant group of guys, and we are grateful for the opportunity we have been given.”
