THE excitement is building as residents get ready for the long-awaited return of Darnhall Show.

The event takes place at Court House Farm in Swanlow Lane on Saturday, July 9, and this year will be the sixth year of the show, after being cancelled for the past two years due to Covid.

Profits will go towards the renovation and improvement of Darnhall Village Hall.

A spokesperson said: “We aim to make the event a family fun day out and this year we have a children’s ride and fun fair stalls, Zorb Balls, craft and shopping stalls, a farmers market, main ring entertainment including dun dog demonstration, jujitsu demonstration, Darnhall Dancers, and the Rose Queen.

“We have static displays of vintage tractors and cars and vintage steam engines.

“For refreshments we have a barbecue by Grants Butchers, a bar by Star Pub and tea and homemade cakes served by the Darnhall Brownies.

“We will be running our competitions tent again and everyone is welcome to join in with baking, craft, flowers, photography and much more.

There will also be a fun dog show, a raffle, Solis Tractors and Husqvarna Garden Machinery trade stands, as well as an appearance by the North Cheshire Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers.

Family games are available in the main ring such as a tug of war.

Admission is £5 per adult, children under 16 are free and parking is free on a field.

Card payments can be made on the gate or cash will be accepted.

The show opens at 11am and finishes around 5pm.
