A MAN accused of stalking a woman has been remanded in custody after turning up at his alleged victim's place of work.

Michael Clarke, of Townfields Road, Winsford, had previously been granted conditional bail while awaiting a court date over charges of stalking and harassment.

But the 39-year-old breached the conditions of his bail by going to his alleged victim's work place at the Winsford Industrial Estate on June 16.

Clarke was arrested by police and was hauled back to Chester Magistrates Court on June 18 where he admitted the breach.

During the hearing, he pleaded not guilty to a charge of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, a charge of stalking without fear or distress and a final charge of harassment without violence.

Clarke is accused of stalking a woman in Winsford between November 26 last year and March 17 this year.

It is also alleged he messaged the woman's mum via Facebook on January 14 asking for it to be passed on and called her place of work twice on March 16.

Magistrates revoked his bail and remanded him in custody until his next appearance before the bench, which will be for his trial at Crewe Magistrates Court on July 8.

While at court, Clarke also admitted breaching a post custodial supervision order and was jailed for 14 days.
