A WINSFORD man has been hit with a court fine after being caught growing cannabis in the town.
Dean Groves, of Dean Street, appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on June 14 where he pleaded guilty to a charge of producing a controlled class B drug.
The charge relates to an incident on February 22 this year.
Taking the 52-year-old's guilty plea into account, magistrates fined him £80 and ordered him to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
The court also ordered the drugs and accompanying paraphernalia to be forfeited and destroyed.
