A WINSFORD man 'with a flagrant disregard for people and their property' faces a month behind bars after breaking into a gym.

Nathan Baker, of Saxon Crossway, forced his way into Funk Fitness, a gym in John Street, Winsford, on March 6 earlier this year.

The 30-year-old appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 15, where he pleaded guilty to the burglary with intent to steal.

Even taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates jailed Baker for four weeks and ordered him to pay £200 in compensation.

In giving the reasons for their sentence, the magistrates indicated the offence was so serious, only custody could be justified.

They added Baker has a flagrant disregard for court orders and for people and their property.
