
WINSFORD High Street Year 6 girls football team are in the National Schools finals at Coventry City’s stadium tomorrow, Friday.
They have reached the last eight and will be representing the North of England as well as the north west, Cheshire and Winsford itself.
The girls are up against schools from Devon, Surrey, Wiltshire, Kent, Northumberland, Humberside and the West Midlands.
Their progress comes on the back of being victors at the Cheshire and regional finals.
All eight girls in the side also play for Winsford Diamonds Under 11s team coached by former Witton Albion captain, striker or centre half Rob Hopley.
He said: “It is quite an achievement and it’s massive for the town and school.”
