WINSFORD Tennis Club are all set for the new season.
A sum of £20,000, with the help of grants, has been spent on resurfacing the two club hard courts at Grange Lane, next to the Knights Grange Sports Complex. The nets and posts have been replaced too.
Annual membership, which has grown by 250 per cent since 2019 despite the coronavirus pandemic, is now open for the season April 2022 to March 2023.
The club’s facilities, as well as the two council courts on site that are available on a pay-and-play basis, are available for all age groups and abilities at a social or competitive level.
A men’s team will be playing in Division Four of the South and Mid Cheshire Tennis League, while officials would consider restarting women’s and mixed teams going forward if more ladies join and demand dictates.
Alex King offers private coaching, to anybody from beginners to team players.
Toilet faciilties are available next to the clubhouse too.
Members receive the combinations to the locks on the gates.
Keys for the clubhouse can be bought separately.
Members need to book a court to ensure they have one available on arrival.
Membership: Adult £60, adult (over 65) £50, student/unemployed £35, junior (aged 10 and under) £20, junior (aged 11-16) £30, family (2 adults and up to 3 juniors, plus £5 for each additional child): £120. Non-members can book one of the council courts at £7.50 per hour.
