A TEEN thug who murdered a Winsford man has been named after the Guardian successfully challenged a court order.
The reporting restriction meant the teen, who was found guilty of killing Keagan Crimes, following a month-long trial, would have remained anonymous until reaching the age of 18 in June.
However, after considering a challenge to the order made under s45 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999, His Honour Judge Steven Everett agreed it was in the public interest to be able to name him.
Noel Reade, of Crewe, was just 16 when he stabbed Keagan Crimes in the chest, during an altercation in Cheviot Square on Sunday, October 11, 2020.
Judge Everett said: “The public have a right to know his name and what he’s done over the last couple of years.”
