A MIXED bag of results have been produced by Winsford United this week.

Blues became the first team to achieve a win against Longridge Town in six matches at the weekend.

But then on Tuesday night were defeated at home by fellow mid-table outfit Vauxhall Motors.

They had climbed to 14th in the Cheshire Football League Premier Division after Saturday's success but dropped to 15th after Tuesday night's loss.

They went behind against Vauxhall just before half-time when Michael Burkey netted.

Ben Holmes made it 2-0 in the 73rd minute and Sam Madeley fired in a consolation effort eight minutes into added time.

Defender Dylan Chalice netted the winner in added time at Longridge.

Blues led from the 22nd minute courtesy of frontman Kevin Exell.

However, Longridge, got themselves back to parity in the 70th minute through Connor Martin.

Winsford host 13th-placed Prestwich Heys at Barton Stadium on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
