Almost 1,000 new Covid-19 cases were recorded across Cheshire West and Cheshire East in the latest daily update.
According to figures released by Public Health England, there were a total of 959 new cases in the two boroughs in the latest 24-hour period.
This is made up of 448 cases in Cheshire West and 511 new cases in Cheshire East.
The latest update takes the borough's respective totals since the pandemic began to 88,574 for Cheshire West and 94,616 for Cheshire East.
It also means 3,609 people in Cheshire West have tested positive in the last week, giving the borough a seven-day case rate of 1,049.7 per 100,000 of the population.
There were 3,973 new cases in the last week in Cheshire East, meaning the borough's seven-day case rate is 1,027.5.
Both are just above the national rate for England which stands at 1,004.7.
There were 89,176 new cases across the UK in the lates 24-hour period, between 4pm on January 27 and 4pm today.
