A PACKAGING factory has been evacuated after machinery caught fire.
Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in Jiffy Packaging on Road Four at around 11.50am on Thursday.
Two firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, entered the building and found that the fire involved a macerator.
Sprinklers within the building had already activated and helped to contain the fire.
The crew used a hose reel jet to dampen down.
The site had been evacuated when firefighters arrived and all staff were accounted for.
Crews remain at the scene and are currently using a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots.
Two fire engines from Winsford and Northwich attended the incident.
