POLICE in Chester have set up a dispersal zone for the city centre following what they say have been "numerous" anti-social behaviour incidents involving youths.

Chester Police announced the news on social media on Saturday evening (January 22), along with a map illustrating the extent of the dispersal zone, which includes almost all the area inside the ring road (the section around Delamere Street and part of George Street is exempt), the section covering Chester Railway Station, the Groves and Grosvenor Park, plus a section of the canal towpath.

Officers added several dispersal notices have already been issued.

Police said: "A Dispersal Authority is now in place for Chester City Centre following numerous incidents of anti-social behaviour involving youths.

"Those involved in this kind of behaviour will be issued a Dispersal Notice by Officers, which if breached may lead to their arrest. Several have already been issued.

"Parents / Guardians, do you know where your children are this evening?"
