SHOPPERS in Middlewich have chosen a children's football team to receive a £750 donation.

Middlewich Town FC Under 7s is set to receive a donation thanks to Jack’s Supermarket's support scheme scheme – which donates proceeds from the sale of carrier bags to good causes voted for by its customers.

For the past three months shoppers at Jack’s Middlewich have been voting for four worthy causes including 1st Middlewich Company The Boys Brigade, 3rd Wistaston Guides, Over St Johns Primary School and Middlewich Town FC Under 7s.

All four charities received £250 for taking part, and Middlewich Town FC Under 7s were given an additional £500 for getting the most votes.

Jenny Pegg, from Middlewich Town FC, said: "Middlewich Town FC Under 7s would like to say a massive thank you to Jack's.

"The initial £250 we received went towards getting the children some training tops ready for the winter months.

"The additional £500 will now be put towards funding an official away kit for the team."

To continue with the initiative, the voting is now open in store for four new charities, who are each eligible for funding;

  • Middlewich Clean Team
  • Middlewich High School PTFA
  • Tommy Thumbs at Cledford
  • Weaver Vale Housing Trust, Cotswold House

To vote for the charity you think deserves the funding, visit Jack’s Supermarket on Wheelock Street, and select your favourite using the Jack’s Supports podium at the front of the store.
