MORE than 300 children from a Winsford primary school have taken part in the St Luke's Hospice sponsored Elf Run.
Darnhall Primary School pupils and staff ran, hopped, skipped and walked to raise money as part of the exciting charity event.
St Luke's encouraged 'elf recruits' to get 'fit and elfie' this Christmas and take on the run to raise much-needed funds.
All schools which took part received an elf hat and sticker for each child, an ‘elfie’ frame, a Santa suit for the teacher, plus sachets of porridge for breakfast for each child provided by sponsors Mornflake.
Sarah Tomlinson, head teacher at Darnhall Primary School, said: "The children and staff had so much fun.
"We had speedy elves, cheeky elves, giggly elves, hopping elves and skipping elves, but most of all extremely happy elves.
"There were 390 children aged two to 11 who took part."
Since 1988, St Luke’s Hospice has been providing palliative care, supporting people 'in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS'.
Last year the hospice supported more than 1,000 people from nearby areas, including end of life care, supporting carers, helping children cope with grief and helping patients return to work after an illness.
The Elf Run is one of ways the hospice raises money to continue its work.
