A NIGHT dedicated to celebrating the early origins of the dance music scene is coming to Northwich Plaza next month.

'Life' promises to carry you on an eclectic journey of the sounds from Manchester's famous Hacienda nightclub, with music that inspired a generation.

The event was originally penned in for 2020 to celebrate the sixth birthday of local charity Tiny Steps, but the pandemic had other ideas.

Scott Burstow, who has been organising live events for Tiny Steps for several years, explained how the event was also moved from original venue The Salty Dog and what people can expect.

He said: "We initially announced this night last year at The Salty Dog and it sold out within 24 hours but as we know, all of our events were rescheduled due to Covid.

"I have to thank both Chris at the Salty Dog and Jon at the Plaza as it was clear the demand was there for tickets so we all agreed to move the night to The Plaza meaning we could accommodate more meaning additional funds for Tiny Steps.

"Its our first night at the Plaza and I cannot wait – its genuinely one of Northwich’s most iconic buildings and a treasure that I hope can host many more events over the coming years.

"It’s a must for anyone who loved the Hacienda dance scene.

"Clint Boon is on the bill and one of our biggest supporters and friends - I owe him so much.

"I also can’t wait to see Davos perform – he is literally a genius on the keyboard and still plays festivals like Glastonbury so its huge he is playing for us."

Keyboard star Davos found fame in 2012 when a video of him playing a medley of dance classics went viral, going on to notch up half a million views.

Scott added: "It's only four weeks away and momentum and the buzz is now growing.

Life takes place at the Plaza on December 17 between 7pm-11pm and tickets are £15.
