DETAILS of Winsford's annual Remembrance Day service and parade have been announced.

The events will take place in the town centre on November 14, with the service conducted by the Winsford Town Mayor’s (Cllr Nathan Pardoe) Chaplain, Father Simon O’Connor of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winsford.

The Parade will assemble on the drive to Wyvern House Council offices from 10.15am and will be led by the Salvation Army Band.

The Parade will proceed via the Drumber, Dingle Lane, the High Street and Dene Drive to the Town Centre and through the side entrance to Fountain Court.

The Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire, Mrs Susan Sellers will be laying a wreath on behalf of her Majesty the Queen.

The Service itself will commence at approximately 10.45am.

Following this, the Town Mayor and Mayoress (Cllr Nathan Pardoe and Mrs Heather Pardoe) will place wreaths on the war memorial and the Boer war memorial respectively in memory of those Winsford men and women who gave their lives for their country.

The service will mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal British Legion.

At the conclusion of the service, the Civic Party will take leave to receive the March Past on the old Civic Hall car park.

Members of the public wishing to attend the service are strongly advised to arrive in the town before 10am as a number of town centre car parks will not be available after that time.

The event will be held according to latest Covid-19 guidelines.
