THE Cenotaph and Bull Ring in Middlewich are set to be cleaned up ahead of the town's Remembrance Day parade later this month.

The move from the town council has been welcomed by residents and councillors.

Cllr Mike Hunter said: "It’s crucial that those who gave their lives are properly remembered with appropriate respect.

"My colleague cllr David Williams raised the subject with me in October, after which, as chair, I inspected the area myself.

"As a result, ANSA have now trimmed the surrounding trees as requested, and a local contractor will be professionally cleaning the Bull Ring in the next few days."

It is hoped that the appointment of a town ranger will help these area and other across the town to remain 'spruced up'.

The annual Remembrance Day parade will take place on Sunday, November 14.

It will begin at 10.30am outside the Royal British Legion on Lewin Street, and will culminate at the Bull Ring.
