A FAMILY bonfire event takes off this weekend with new attractions and live entertainment.
Wilmslow Bonfire returns at 5pm on Saturday, November 6 and promises to be one of the biggest charity displays in Cheshire.
The lighting of the bonfire will be followed by a spectacular show from fire performer Sarah Spiral who promises to stun spectators with dazzling displays and visual effects live on stage.
The main firework display promises a cinematic experience with a James Bond theme that will be synchronised to Bond theme songs from the past 60 years.
Paul D'Ambra, chairman of Wilmslow Round Table, said: "We are thrilled to be able to bring the Wilmslow Bonfire event back to the Carnival Fields this year and deliver a community focussed event, continuing to raise funds for incredible charities and worthy causes in the area."
A special display for little ones will be followed by performances from local musicians, a show choir and children's entertainers before the main display.
Local resident Max Eden said: "The Wilmslow Bonfire event is such a fantastic community event.
"It's just incredible to see the dedication and hard work which Paul and all the other bonfire volunteers put into creating this inclusive charity event.
"I’ve been attending for over 20 years and it’s wonderful to have these community events in our town."
Cheshire based Wildfire Pizza Co will be baking Neapolitan style wood fired pizzas alongside a selection of local food and beverage outlets including the Trendy Festival Bar Co who will be serving mulled wine.
The event has been designed this year with additional Covid measures in place to ensure everyone can enjoy the community display safely.
Larger audience areas will allow for social distancing and one way systems will be in place.
Hand sanitisers will be dotted around the site and visitors are asked to use cashless or card payments only.
