NORTHWICH

Man evades jail term after he assaulted three people while drunk

A NORTHWICH man has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to assaulting three people.

Ryan Lehane, of Manchester Road, was appearing at Warrington Magistrates Court on Thursdsay, October 7.

The 33-year-old carried out the three assaults in Warrington on August 15 this year, while under the influence of alcohol.

Magistrates took into account Lehane’s guilty plea but handed him an 18-week prison sentence due to the injuries caused and the fact he returned to the scene to commit further harm.

However, that 18-week sentence was suspended for a period of two years due to the fact the bench believe Lehane had shown genuine remorse and there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation.

He will instead have to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and work with the probation service on his rehabilitation.

Lehane must also pay £200 compensation to each of his victims as well as £85 prosecution costs and a surcharge of £128.

Drink driving ban for Northwich man

A NORTHWICH man was found to be driving over the limit when he was stopped by police.

Bogdan Coraliu, of Middlewich Road, was handed a 12-month driving ban when he appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 12.

The 36-year-old had been driving his Volkswagen Polo on the A556 when he was stopped on September 5.

He was asked to provide officers with a sample of his breath, the results of which showed he had 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the limit being 35mg/100ml.

Having pleaded guilty to the offence, Coraliu was also told to pay a £120 fine as well £85 in costs and a £34 surcharge.

Drug pair plumb to new depths with thefts from B&Q 

TWO men from Northwich have admitted stealing plumbing items from a store in Crewe.

Toni-Ann Philpin and Stephen Tims took the items, worth £396.75 from the Weston Road branch of B&Q on September 9.

Police name man charged after 'suspicious' incidents in Pickmere

Christopher Hollinworth, of the Orchards in Pickmere has been remanded in custody on four charges.

The 37-year-old was arrested on Saturday, October 9 for threatening behaviour against three people and for criminal damage.

His next court appearance will be at Crewe Mags on December 8.

Police name man charged after 'suspicious' incidents in Pickmere

Christopher Hollinworth, of the Orchards in Pickmere has been remanded in custody on four charges.

The 37-year-old was arrested on Saturday, October 9 for threatening behaviour against three people and for criminal damage.

His next court appearance will be at Crewe Mags on December 8.

KNUTSFORD

Man fined after paying visit to town centre he was banned from

A MAN has been fined after he ignored an order banning him from Knutsford town centre.

Sam Taggart, of Chapel Street in Northwich, was found outside the Lloyds TSB on Princess Street on August 20.

The prolific shoplifter had been banned from entering the town centre by way of a criminal behaviour order made on June 4 at Stockport Magistrates Court.

Taggart pleaded guilty to breaching the terms of the order when he appeared at the same court on Monday, October 11.

He was fined £180 and told to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a surcharge of £34.

Man admits to armed robbery of Natwest Bank

A MAN has pleaded guilty to the terrifying armed robbery of a bank in Knutsford.

Jason Jenyons, of Overfields, was appearing at Chester Crown Court, sitting at the city's Crowne Plaza hotel, on Monday, October 11.

Man charged over crash in which woman died

POLICE have charged a man in connection with a fatal crash in Middlewich.

Liam Foster, of Smallbrook Walk, Crewe, was arrested on Monday, October 11 following a collision on Warmingham Lane.
