A SUPERMARKET in Middlewich is celebrating its third birthday next month, having donated £18,650 to causes in the community so far.

Since opening its doors in October 2018, Jack’s Supermarket, off Wheelock Street, has become a key part of the town.

Over the last three years, charities and organisations directly supporting the Middlewich community have been invited to apply to the Jack’s Supports Scheme to receive some well-deserved funding.

Since the launch of the initiative, 55 applications have been processed and 48 organisations have been supported, including charities, community centres, events, social clubs, and sports clubs.

In the last year alone the community cast 32,158 votes for the charity support scheme.

The total donated so far is £18,650, with much more to come.

Jack’s has also addressed the important issue of meal donations, donating approximately 3,208 meals to date to those in society whose needs are the greatest.

Jack’s Supermarket has always been proud to provide top quality products at great value prices – and the top-selling products in Middlewich have been bananas, biscuits, milk and carrots.

Darren Preston, store manager of Jack’s Middlewich, said: "Since opening our doors three years ago, our aim has always been to be more than just a supermarket.

"Whilst our main priority is to provide top quality produce at great value prices, the community has always been important to us.

"We are proud of everything we have done for the Middlewich community so far but are keen to keep this support going.

"Therefore, if you are a local cause that requires funding, please apply to our Jack’s Supports Scheme by visiting jackssupports.org.uk."
