THE resignation of three councillors in Winsford has potentially triggered elections in two of the town's wards.

A vacancy have arisen in the Gravel Ward while two more have been declared to represent the Over Ward on Winsford Town Council.

The three vacancies have come about after three councillors resigned from their posts - those people being; Julie Savage, Chris Le and David Ellis.

Any ten electors in the wards may call an election by writing to the returning officer at Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC).

The request for an election has to be made within 14 days from the date the vacancy notices were published, which was Monday, September 20.

The 14 day period does not include Saturdays or Sundays meaning the deadline for these particular vacancies will be Friday, October 8.

In the event of no election being called, the council will fill the vacancies by co-option.

Those wishing to contact CWAC should do so via: The Returning Officer, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Council Offices, 4 Civic Way, Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BE.
