POLICE officers descended on a quiet residential street in York this evening and carried out a search of a vehicle.
Four police vans partially blocked Woodlands Grove, in the Heworth area, at about 5.45pm, where it is understood they pulled over a car before gloved officers were seen conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, with the bonnet, boot and all doors open.
Motorists were redirected down neighbouring roads except people travelling to the Heworth rugby training ground at Elmpark Way, Heworth.
