ALMOST 400 Covid-19 cases were recorded across Cheshire West and Cheshire East in the latest 24-hour period.

A total of 392 new cases were reported in Mid Cheshire between 4pm on September 14 and 4pm today, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

This is made up of 191 new cases in Cheshire West and Chester and 201 cases in Cheshire East.

The total number of cases in both boroughs now stands at 37,244 in Cheshire West and 37,141 in Cheshire East.

The latest update means there have now been 1,424 cases in the last seven days in Cheshire West, giving the borough a seven-day case rate of 414.2 per 100,000 people.

There have been 1,354 cases in Cheshire East over the last week, meaning the borough’s seven-day case rate is now 350.2 per 100,000.

Nationally there were 30,597 new Covid-19 cases across the UK in the latest 24-hour period.
