CO-OP Funeralcare in Winsford has announced it will be hosting a colouring competition for children to help them reflect on those who have stood out as pandemic heroes throughout the past eighteen months.

Parents and guardians of children who want to participate can call into the funeral home situated in Winsford’s Over Square, Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm, and collect one of the pre-made templates.

Alternatively, little ones are also encouraged to think outside the box and design their own template in order to best reflect who their personal hero is.

Together with the drawing, children are also asked to provide a short paragraph explaining who they have portrayed as their hero and why.

Submissions can be dropped off at the funeral home until Friday, September 24, where they will be proudly displayed in the windows.

The funeral home will be announcing two lucky winners on Wednesday, September 29, who will receive a selection of art supplies.

Rachel Holland, funeral arranger at Co-op Funeralcare Winsford, said: "We all know the past eighteen months have been hard on our communities, so to put a smile on passers-by's faces, we will be proudly displaying a variety of pandemic heroes as illustrated by local children.

"It’s our way of celebrating people in our community who have gone above and beyond through the Covid crisis.

"We hope lots of little minds will be inspired to get creative and we’d encourage children all over the region to take a few moments to think about who their personal hero is, and thank them for making life that bit better!"
