The top two will receive a prize of £200 each courtesy of the Northwich BID and Cheshire West and Chester Council, they also get a second chance to wow the crowds at the Radio Northwich launch party on September 11.

John Thompson from Radio Northwich said: "We have had an overwhelming response to our search, it was difficult to pick the final 12 as the quality of applications was so high.

"We are now looking forward to two live music events that will show some of the brilliant music talent we have right here in Northwich.

"We hope to provide a platform for these aspiring musicians; who will not only perform at the event but will have their music played on Radio Northwich too."

"This great mix of musical talent will entertain visitors at Barons Quay and bring a much-needed party atmosphere to Northwich this summer."
