A CHARITY fundraiser will lose his hair live online to raise money for a project to bring healthcare to homeless people.
Chris Wakefield is to have his head shaved on Thursday, July 29, in aid of HealthBus.
The Bournemouth-based charity travels to areas where people sleep rough, providing basic healthcare, a GP service and access to addiction and mental health support services.
Chris, a trustee of the charity and a former Bournemouth councillor, has known homelessness himself.
“As someone who has experienced homelessness, I remember how difficult it was to access our wonderful NHS during that very difficult period of my life,” he said.
“I wish that there had been a HealthBus around then, so that I could have accessed GP care when I needed it.
“The HealthBus is a standalone charity and survives financially, through the generosity of others.
“I would like to thank Salon 88 on Portland for volunteering to shave off my lovely locks.”
Chris is hoping plenty of people will donate £5 or more for the shave.
To donate, and to watch the shave in progress from 9am on Thursday, July 29 visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ChristopherWakefield2
