THIS is the aftermath of the Northwich fire that firefighters tackled for hours last night.
Residents were evacuated following a large blaze that involved a number of outbuildings containing gas cylinders.
The fire was contained before causing any significant property damage.
Four fire engines attended Linnards Lane, Wincham, just before 10pm following reports of a fire in the open.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
"Six cylinders were involved in the fire and were cooled down by the crews.
"The scene was then damped down and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots.
"Once safe to do so, residents were allowed back into neighbouring properties."
One social media user said that they could see there was a fire from Mow Cop.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: "Fire crews from Knutsford fire station, Northwich fire station and Lymm fire station were mobilised to a large fire in Wincham yesterday evening involving a number of outbuildings containing gas cylinders.
"Thankfully the fire was contained before causing any significant property damage."
