THERE have been more than 150 confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 across both Cheshire East and West in the last 24 hours.
In the latest figures released by Public Health England, there have been 87 cases in Cheshire West and 71 in Cheshire East.
The recent spike in cases has seen the rate of infection across both boroughs more than double in just two weeks.
However, despite the increase in cases, those in hospital with the virus remain very low, with just one patient currently in hospital at the Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust and the same number at the East Cheshire NHS Trust.
The seven day rate of infection as of June 11 in Cheshire East was 126.3 per 100,000 people, which is the lowest it has been for five days.
In Cheshire West, the rate is slightly lower, at 110.5 per 100,000 people, which is the lowest it has been in each of the last four days.
Meanwhile, the vaccination rollout continues at pace with a total of 465,415 vaccinations given in Cheshire East and 397,442 in Cheshire West.
