A KIND schoolboy gave up his time to support a hospice plant fair.
Jeon Jince, nine, helped Hilary and John Malam set up more than 1,000 annual and perennial flowers, fruits and vegetables in the garden of their Winsford home on Saturday.
The charity sale raised £1,755 for St Luke's Hospice and money is still coming in.
The St Joseph's pupil is receiving a headteacher's award from Martine Gum for his efforts.
Headteacher Martine Gum said: "I am incredibly proud of Jeon and the commitment he has shown to the fundraising event.
"However, it is no surprise as Jeon is an extremely caring and generous individual. Well done Jeon."
John, of Woodlark Close, said: "Jeon came along with his mum, Saritha to help us set up and stayed all day. He was a superstar.
"It was an amazing day and we had so much support from the community.
"Friends and neighbours helped us to set everything up and from 10am we had a steady stream of people coming from all over town.

"As well as the plants we’d grown, we had plants and gardening items donated by Asda, Morrisons, and members of the community. Winsford Town Council loaned us gazebos and we borrowed tables from Christ Church Wharton. It’s a big thank you to all who supported us.
"All the plants were free, we just asked for a donation."
Keen gardener Hilary said: "St Luke's is close to our hearts. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in summer 2019 and I was fortunate enough to have complementary therapies to aid my recovery.
"For a long time I thought St Luke's was only for end of life care but it offers so much more."
Angela Slack, community partnerships officer, St Luke’s: "We are enormously grateful to Hilary and John for all their hard work and support. We know a lot of time and commitment went into organising this wonderful garden plant fair for St Luke’s Hospice. We are overwhelmed with the incredible amount raised.
"Thank you so much and thanks to everyone who visited and donated. This generous donation will make a big difference to more families who need our help during a very challenging time."
The couple are already planning next year's event.
"We know we’re going to need lots of small plant pots so please start saving them for us and we’ll put them to good use," said John.
