TWO kind-hearted schoolboys who helped a woman to carry her shopping have been hailed good samaritans.

Cousins Kieran Joynson and Michael Saunderson, both 13, were in Winsford town centre when they noticed a lady struggling and rushed to her aid.

Their kind gesture has won praise from the community after it was shared on social media.

Samantha Felton posted this message: "I went into Home Bargains for a couple of things and came out with more than I could carry to the car.

"Seeing me struggle and dropping a crate of water, the young lads offered to help to take my bags to t he car.

"Lovely well-mannered lads. I said thanks for their help and if I had any change I'd have given them a couple of pounds for their trouble. They said 'no, don't worry, we don't want anything, it's Ok.

"Was so glad when they were behind me in the queue in Aldi afterwards where I was able to pay for the goodies they were buying.

"If this might be your children then be proud, they are a credit to you."

The parents of both boys, year 9 pupils at Winsford Academy, are full of pride.

Kieran's mum Edith Ashbrook said: "When he came in and told me I couldn't praise him enough. I'm over the moon.

"He was really chuffed with himself, anyone struggling he will always help.

"If anything needs doing around the house, Kieran will do it for us.

"He is good at cracking jokes and is an absolute little character."

Michael's mum Claire, who has five other children, said: "I was made up when he came home and told me what he'd done. He has autism and is quite shy so for him to go and help someone is wonderful.

"He is a lovely lad. I am very proud."

Gary Evans, principal of Winsford Academy, said: "I am delighted that the kindness of some of our young people, particularly students from Winsford Academy, has been recognised.

"We often read of negative things that young people do or say but I know from working with them that the vast majority of Winsford youngsters are kind, considerate, thoughtful people and this story proves it.

"I am very proud of them and hope this will show others that the little things we do for people are always worth the effort."

The boys won much acclaim on social media.

Bernard Barnes said: "We should always acknowledge and communicate the good that is inherent in the majority of young people. Young people should feel wanted, not criticised or demonised for youthful indiscretions. So well said Samantha, and all credit to the young people and their parents.

Georgina Lewis said: "Could we have more good news stories about the youngsters in our town who are caring and considerate, I am sure they outnumber the ones who don’t."

Audrey Mellor added: "That's a great example of kindness. Lovely to hear positive stuff about our young people."

Cher Dion said: "Made me fill up. They should be super proud of themselves."

Lesley Lowdon added: "Brought up with manners and respect. Well done to both the parents of these lads and the lads themselves."

Pauline Maccbe said: "We have great children in Winsford just an odd few who let us down."

Diana Bancroft added: "Well done lads. I’m sure the majority of kids are like minded. It’s the not so good kids that give the town a bad name so thanks for sharing this positive story.

Justine Watts said: "Not all teenagers and kids are causing trouble and have no respect. Some like these young lads just show you that."

Rachel Lowndes Gleeson added: "Well done to those lads, hope their parents are very proud of them. Nice to hear positive posts about the youngsters around the town."

Joanne Payne said: "I love seeing something positive and praise for the youth of today."

Simone Redmond added: "Lovely thoughtful boys. Parents must be proud."

Shell Swift said: "Some kids are better than adults, well done boys, nice to hear."
