PLANS have been submitted to remove the cash machine and signage at Barclays Winsford branch.

Earlier this year the bank announced it will be closing its Dingle Lane branch following a drop in pre-pandemic visits.

And on Friday, May 7, the branch closed its doors to customers for the final time.

Now Barclays have submitted plans to Cheshire West and Chester Council to remove the existing fascia sign, among other signage, as well as the ATM.

The plans state all holes to the wall, which would be the result of signs' removal, would be made good.

The opening left by the removal of the cash machine would be covered with a new stainless steel plate.

A decision on proposal has yet to be made.
