A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a two-car crash on the A537 in Cheshire.

Police were called to the scene of the collision in Chelford Road, Macclesfield, at around 10.15am this morning.

Those involved in the crash were checked by attending paramedics, but no-one required hospital treatment.

A 28-year-old woman, from Macclesfield was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cannabis.

A Cheshire Police spokesman confirmed she has since been released under investigation.

He said: "At around 10.15am on Thursday, May 6, police were informed of a two-car collision on Chelford Road in Macclesfield.

"Officers swiftly attended the scene and discovered that the incident involved a grey Audi Q8 and a silver Renault Clio.

"The people involved in the collision were assessed by paramedics. No-one was taken to hospital.

"A 28-year-old woman from Macclesfield was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of class B drug cannabis.

"After being interviewed in custody, she has been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
