KNIFE sweeps have been taking place across Winsford this week as part of a campaign to get knives off the streets.
Northwich Local Policing Unit, PCSO's and community volunteers have conducted sweep initiatives outside Winsford Lifestyle Centre and Winsford Town Park, in support of Operation Sceptre.
This is a week-long campaign aimed at cutting knife crime, which involved knife amnesties at supermarkets and shops, knife sweeps, and educating the public.
A knife sweep was conducted earlier in the week on Brecon Way and surrounding areas.
Officers also attended Winsford Academy to deliver a presentation on the dangers of carrying knifes and injuries inflicted by knife crime.
Cheshire Police have been holding knife amnesties at supermarkets and shops.
