As we near the Bank Holiday weekend, most of us will be wondering what the weather has in store for us.

With indoor drinking and dining still a couple of weeks away, the need for dry, if not pleasant weather will be considered a must by many, and on that front it looks fairly promising.

The only obvious negative is that temperatures are relatively low for the time of year, with highs on Saturday and Sunday of just 13 degrees.

Both Saturday and Sunday look by far the best bets for those wishing to venture out and explore, with sunny intervals and light winds, meaning it is likely to feel pleasant enough when the sun is shining.

However, Bank Holiday Monday itself looks rather more unsettled and the chance of al fresco dining is likely to be limited to the brave with a day for enjoying the great indoors far more appealing.

The wind is forecast to pick up and there is a pretty good chance of a shower or two throughout the day with temperatures just about reaching double figures.

Considering last year we were bathed in hot sunshine, it all seems a little flat and disappointing.

Whatever you choose to do, remember to wrap up, stay safe and enjoy your extra long weekend.
