Sophie Burke, 24, has teamed up with her partner Jordan Boswell, 25, and his mum Claire Boswell, 47 to create a unique emporium of delectable treats.

The idea for the business was inspired by the couple's children Felicity, three and her four-year-old sister Delilah.

Mum-of-two Sophie said: "The idea of a sweet shop began last year. My girls and Claire's youngest ones are obsessed with sweets. They would live on them if they could.

"We were having desserts at home and thought it would be a good idea to open a shop. We're always craving something sweet.

"There is nothing like this in Winsford so we thought we'd give it a go."

Claire, who has eight children aged from eight to 25, is an experienced baker and has been making wedding and birthday cakes for 10 years.

"Everything is made on site," said Sophie, who worked as a hairdresser in a salon for five years. "We've got a kitchen, prep room and a shop.

Jordan, who runs a home improvement business, will be helping out with some deliveries, whilst the girls work full-time.

A dessert chef is also joining the team.

Old school cake, nutella cupcakes, chocolate crunch, cheesecakes, Biscoff cake and red velvet are just some of the many treats on offer.

Cakes will be sold in slices and customers can pick and choose fillings for waffles.

Sweets will be available in cones and different size pizza boxes.

"We will also be providing bespoke birthday party packages," said Sophie. "We can offer a bouncy castle, balloons, bunting, popcorn and sweetie carts."

So far, the business is proving very popular. Cakes and treats have been available to order on social media as the family put their sweeties to the test.

"We did some research and I was overwhelmed by the response," said Sophie. "People have told me they have to drive out of town for a waffle.

"I think we are filling a gap in the market. From what my parents told me everyone used to enjoy having these sweets weighed out. It will be nice to bring all this stuff back and so many memories and happy times.
