PEOPLE of all ages in Winsford have been set an ambitious goal.

Adults and children have been encouraged to walk, cycle, run, scoot or skate as far as they can as part of a wellbeing week challenge.

Wellbeing Winsford teamed up with Vale Royal School Sports Partnership to see if the town could clock up 199 miles, the equivalent of the distance from Winsford in Cheshire to Winsford in Somerset.

If residents conquer this target, two other landmarks could be within reach.

Deuil-la-Barre, the French town Winsford is twinned with is a distance of 549 miles and Neider-Eschback, the German town that shares a friendship link with Winsford is 886 miles away.

The challenge, which started on Monday, has two days to go and is one of a range of virtual activities and outdoor activities to encourage residents to improve their physical fitness and mental wellbeing.
