A DEESIDE man was arrested this weekend for driving with a “lethal combination”.
The 27-year-old from Connah’s Quay, was arrested on Saturday, April 10, after being clocked almost 20 miles above the speed limit.
A Roads Policing Unit spokesman confirmed that the motorcyclist was caught travelling at almost 50mph in a 30 zone at the weekend – but officers also found he was under the influence of cannabis.
They said: “Speed checks carried out in Connah's Quay on Saturday resulted in a motorcyclist being arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
“Unfortunately for him he was caught doing 49mph in a 30mph zone so was stopped.
"Also tested positive for cannabis. Speeding + drugs = lethal combination.”
The officers add that the 27-year-old now has an “anxious wait” for the results of further tests.
They say he will also be dealt with for the speeding offence.
