TAKE a look inside the new Weaverham-based tea room which will soon be opening its doors to customers.

The Star Tea Room in High Street has been created by resident Chris Cruse, who wanted to provide the village with a something a little different.

The 27-year-old, who has lived in Weaverham all his life, explained: "We wanted to see what the village needed and what it doesn't currently have.

"So, a few months before going ahead, I put a post on Facebook asking people what they wanted.

"A tea room was what kept coming up.

"I have named the tea room after The Star Inn - that was the original building - and I want to bring some history back to the village so I will be putting pictures of old Weaverham in the tea room and providing a warm and cosy atmosphere.

"It's about bringing a bit of history back to the village."

Chris is hoping to open the doors to The Star Tea Room next month.

"We've refurbished the building and had the front of the shop all re-done," Chris added.

"Inside has also been renovated, the walls have all been painted, I've got new tables and a counter, so the inside is almost ready to go now.

"We'll be serving hot drinks - like tea, coffee and hot chocolate - and sandwiches, toasties, homemade cakes and muffins.

"We also will be offering afternoon teas, and appetisers.

"Hopefully further down the line we'll be offering milkshakes and things for children."

Chris will be posting updates on The Star Tea Room and its opening date on Facebook.
