EVERYONE is being warned to stay vigilant as shops, hairdressers, barbers, gyms, libraries, community centres and beer gardens prepare to reopen.

Residents are reminded to continue adhering to safety advice.

Middlewich Cllr Jonathan Parry said: "Everyone has to play their part and keep to the rules.

"Last year when rules were relaxed, people relaxed them further and that is a danger.

"We've still got to be careful, washing our hands, maintaining social distance and wearing masks in enclosed spaces to make sure we are not spreading anything."

Shoppers are urged to support local traders.

"I want to encourage people to shop on the high street," said Cllr Parry. "Use our local businesses as much as you can in this tough time.

"One thing every single person in town can do is use the businesses that we still have left or we might lose them.

"We've got to work together as a community, rally round to get back to normality. It will take time but hopefully this time next year lockdowns will be a distant memory."

Winsford deputy mayor Cllr Nathan Pardoe said: "I'm sure all of us are looking forward to emerging from lockdown.

"I'd encourage people to support our local businesses as it's the first time many have been able to open their doors since January.

"The NHS is doing a brilliant job vaccinating people but Winsford is not out of the Covid-19 woods yet. Many have not yet been offered the vaccine or have only received their first dose.

"We all need to work together and remind each other to follow the health guidance and keep each other safe. It's easy for any of us to drift into complacency and we all need to be vigilant."
