HAIRDRESSERS, beauty therapists, shops, gyms and beer gardens can't wait to greet customers after being given the green light to reopen on Monday.

Salons say their phones haven't stopped ringing as everyone is is desperate for a hair cut.

Winsford hairdresser Leanne Forsey, who owns Guys n Dollz, said: "It's been absolute bedlam, we're fully booked until the end of May. All our staff will work longer hours to fit more people in."

"We can't wait to get back to work," she said. "We're really excited. Not being able to get your hair done does get you down.

"A half hour makeover can make you feel a million dollars. "

"A lot of people might change their style now that their hair has grown. They could have a new look and a new colour."

Social distancing and safety procedures will be in place when customers come for their appointments.

People are being encouraged to support local businesses.

"We do need support more than ever," said Leanne. "We are well established and confident that we can bounce back but it has not been easy for a lot of self employed businesses."

Beauty therapist Abbie Clarke who runs The Hair and Beauty Box with hair stylist sister Hollie Ryan in Winsford town centre feels relieved.

The mum-of-two said: "We've got bookings until the summer which takes the worry away.

"We have been painting the salon setting everything up. Having the vaccine will hopefully give our older clients the confidence to come back."
