EMERGENCY services were called out after a crash between a car and a bin lorry.

A crew of firefighters from Northwich was dispatched to the scene in Chester Road, Delamere, at around 7.15am this morning.

No occupants were trapped in the vehicles and on arrival the crew made the scene safe.

Cheshire Police and the North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "At around 7.15am firefighters received a report of a two-vehicle collision in Chester Road, Delamere, near Northwich.

"On arrival the crew discovered that the incident involved a bin lorry and a saloon car.

"No-one was trapped inside either vehicle.

"The road was closed and firefighters made the vehicles safe.

"They were in attendance for around 15 minutes. Police and paramedics also attended."

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman confirmed officers closed the road and managed approaching traffic while the incident was dealt with.
