A CHIMNEY caught fire in Middlewich.

Firefighters were called to reports of a chimney fire in Sutton Lane shortly before 7pm last night.

On arrival the crew found embers coming from the chimney.

A water back pack and chimney hose was used to extinguish the flames..

Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check the hearth and roof space for any hot spots.

Firefighters were at the scene for around one hour.
