SMILING pictures of unsung heroes who helped the community through the pandemic are now on the walls of homes across the country.

The Winsford 2021 calendar honoured all the men and women who supported families, residents and the elderly and vulnerable in the town.

Friends of Winsford Town Park pledged to make a donation to St Luke's Hospice from the profits.

John Malam, chairman of the group, said: “The calendar was our way of saying thank you to the town’s key workers, with portrait photos of 176 local people.”

"We’re delighted that it was well received by the community and further afield, with copies being sent to ex-Winsfordians across the UK. We sold more than 650 copies and we’ve been able to donate £1038 to St Luke’s."

Angela Slack, community partnerships manager at St Luke’s, said: ""We are so very grateful to the Friends of Winsford Town Park for their support.

"This donation will make a real difference to patient care at the hospice in the coming months. We have been overwhelmed by the support of local people over the past year and we are truly thankful to all those involved in raising such a generous amount.”
