HERE are five recent cases which have been heard at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court.

- A NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD man found with cocaine in his possession has been fined.

George Murphy, of Cranston Close, Eccleston indicated a guilty plea to having 1.81g of cocaine in his possession on Holme Road, Eccleston on April 8, 2020.

Murphy was fined £120, made to pay a £32 and £85 in costs to the CPS, making a total of £237.

- A MAN who admitted to drug dealing will be sentenced at a Crown Court.

Charlie Read, of Rodney Street, Newtown indicated guilty pleas to three charges.

He admitted to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, of cannabis and of possession of criminal property, namely £3,445 in cash at Cunningham Court, Eccleston on May 17, 2019.

Read, 24, will be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on February 3. He was given unconditional bail.

- A DRUG driver has been banned from the road for 18 months.

Elliott Seddon, of West Street, Thatto Heath was also given a community order after he pleaded guilty to offences.

Seddon, 24, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle with cocaine, Benzoylecgonine and Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol in his system on April 23, 2020.

He also admitted to driving without a licence or insurance and to possession of cocaine.

Seddon was given a curfew to be electronically monitored for eight weeks. He was also made to pay a £95 surcharge and £85 in CPS costs as well as being given the 18-month driving disqualification.

- A WOMAN who stole tablets has been given a community order.

Louise Birchell, of Reeds Lane, Rainford indicated a guilty plea to theft.

She stole 29 Diazepam tablets; 184 Dihydrocodeine tablets and 128 Librium tablets at Copy Lane Custody suite between August 2019 and January 2020.

Birchell, 55, was made to do up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity and 50 hours of unpaid work over 12 months.

Birchell must also pay a £90 surcharge and £85 in costs to the CPS,

- A MAN who has denied an assault on a woman will face a trial at a Crown Court.

Jamie Dooney, of Wrigley Road, Haydock has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).

Dooney, 38, pleaded not guilty.

The case was sent for jury trial.

Dooney was given conditional bail and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on February 4.
