A PLANNING application has been submitted seeking permission to turn a former social club into a house of multiple-occupation and commercial units.

Proposals for the former Sprayhurst Social Club on Boundary Road were drawn up and sent to the council.

The building has been vacant since October 2018 and described as "in need of repair".

The application is part retrospective and "has already undertaken some of the proposed development works" which were stopped in November 2020 at the request of the planning authority, a planning statement says.

The retrospective parts of the application include for one commercial unit, occupied by an estate agents from May 2020.

The other aspects of the application include for a seven-bed HMO on the first floor and three other commercial units.

Plans add: "The proposed mixed-use development would reintroduce a redundant building back into active use for residential and commercial needs".
